It was quite the day of irony in LA. No Pun.
My favorite part of the evening was a hilarious and bawdy speech delivered by Kathy Griffin. She was expressing her own independence that night by attending with a very handsome man who I would guess was a few years younger than her. I asked her if they were dating and she would only smile and say “Maybe.” Way to go Kath!!!
Unlike most celebs, Kathy has never been shy about expressing her opinion regarding her fellow stars, so I had to know what she thought of Jessica Simpson giving her new born daughter the male name, Maxwell Drew.
Kathy told me, “I’m all for it. I was nervous because you know I get nervous about the inappropriate celebrity names, but I actually approve of this one. Now the nick name being Maxy does remind me of a feminine napkin or a long dress that was popular in Gloria Steinem’s era. But Max I can live with. ”

Decisions are tough, making the right one is even tougher because it means choosing one thing over another, In order to grow you must leave what you’ve outgrown behind. Some people say this is sad. Its not sad! what’s sad is sacrificing your future and life for something that doesnt fit you anymore or maybe never did! Think about the space shuttle! Once it leaves the atmosphere it must drop the engines that propelled it there…..well, only if its to continue out into the stars ;-)
After a cool holiday season, I was ready to experience a night of hot LA glamour. So I put on my blue lacy Pucci design and drove out to the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood to catch the world premiere of Dennis Quaid’s spooky new horror film Beneath the Darkness. I’ve watched Dennis since I was a kid, but when I saw him walking into the theater he looked as handsome as ever. Great stars really do get better with age.
It was a long stroll down the red carpet with screaming media on one side and dozens of autograph seekers on the other. I spotted the humongous Quentin Aaron and let him protect my blind side, as I navigated my way into the theater. Once inside I grabbed a bag of popcorn and found myself standing next to the very elegant and alluring Bai Ling. Bai does have a hard partying reputation but she told me that she’s ready to put all of that behind her now. “Because before I was partying and drinking and kind of crazy. But now it’s a new elegance and lady like Bai Ling. I want to play wonderful rolls like I did in Red Corner. I want to give my talent to the silver screen and my fans, not running around like crazy.” That’s a great attitude to start the new year with.
As the crowd surged inside I scrambled to grab a good seat (not easy to do in high heels!) and ran into my favorite werewolf Boo Boo Stewart and his adorable sister Fivel. And yes Twilight fans, I did try to get the scoop on whether we could expect a Kristin and Rob marriage sometime this year, but Boo Boo would only shrug, smile and say “I have no idea.” Hmmm, too bad there wasn’t an open bar at this premiere or maybe I could have gotten a better answer. It’s never too early to start thinking about Valentine’s Day, so I asked Boo Boo how he dealt with the pressure of getting the right gift for the holiday. He told me, “It’s just like a birthday though. What if you get someone a birthday present they don’t like? They should appreciate that you got them something.” Well said Boo Boo, but I still hope to get something nice and sparkly on Feburary 14th this year ;)
